Extra cash for Enterprise Zone infrastructure

The Government has put an extra £100 million on the table to help enterprise zones complete key infrastructure projects.

The money will fund projects such as road building and land clearance and will hopefully unlock areas previously idle, turning them into prime economic sites.

Enterprise zones can submit just one bid each for the new funding – the deadline for bids is Monday 18th November 2013 and local enterprise partnerships are being asked to coordinate bids in their area.

Communities Secretary, Eric Pickles, comments: “Enterprise zones are at the centre of our plans to back business, help local economies grow stronger and give the UK that competitive edge.”
