Asda has declared that it has become the first UK retailer to sell free-range milk – where it’s guaranteed that dairy cows have grazed outdoors for at least six months of the year. Both semi-skimmed and whole milk are now for sale in 109 Asda stores, in one and two litre bottles, priced at 90p and £1.50 respectively.

Marketed under the “Pasture Promos” brand, the supermarket has also pledged to offer farmers a fair price for their product.
